This is a continuation of the Part 1 of Places to see in Negril, Jamaica while on your Honeymoon.

In part one, we list three of the many places you can go and see while on your honeymoon, today we will be listing 4 more attractions and recreational spots.

1.) Negril Hills Golf Club

If you and your parther are fans of the sport, then you can go have a day of golf at the Negril Hill Golf Course, this is a 18 hole course that features lush tropicical vegetation. If you have never played Golf before, this could be the perfect oppurtunity to learn the sport.

2. The Negril Lighthouse

Take a tour of the Negril Lighthouse, one of the most popular historic landmarks in Western Jamaica. The Lighthouse is located on the outskirts of Negril’s West End, Negril Point, now known as One Love Drive, it is perched on a slope that overlooks the Caribbean Sea where the sun kisses the Water. 3. Negril Beach

Negril has one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The western coastline contains the island’s finest beaches, stretching for more than 6 km (3.7 mi) along a sandbar at Negril. It is known as the “7-Mile Beach” although it is only slightly more than 4 mi (6.4 km) in length, from the Negril River on the south to Rutland Point on the north.

4.) The Kool Runnings Waterpark

It is the newest and only Waterpark in Negril, so if the beach doesn’t cut it for you then you can always go have a funfilled day with your other 1/2 at the Kool Runnings Water Park.

A Honeymoon is a holiday taken by a newly married couple, Holiday! so instead of spending your entire honeymoon inside of some luxury hotel room when then real fun is right outside of the hotel property. Let me give you a breif history on Negril, it was first named Negrillo by the Spanish in 1494 and it remained relatively unknown until the 60’s and 70’s, when American “flower children”, college kids and Vietnam veterans gravitated towards the West End. They lived in the homes of locals and shared family meals and came in ever increasing numbers.

Negril has some of the most beautiful scenery you will ever see in your lifetime. Below I will list some of the spots and attractions you can visit while on your Honeymoon in Negril, Jamaica.

1. Rick’s Cafe

Rick’s Cafe is perched on the well-known cliff of One Love Drive (formerly WestEnd Road). It is one of the most popular spots in Negril and is known for its Cliff Driving and spectacular sunsets.

2. Royal Palm Reserve

Royal Palm Reserve is the number #1 eco-tourism attraction in Negril, its approximately 10-15 mins from all major hotels. Escape to the Royal Palm Reserve and discover the enchantment of Negril’ s hidden treasure.

3. Mayfield Falls

Mayfield Falls is located approximately 45 mins from Negril, however you will not mind the ride since its the perfect Sightseeing Tour and at the end you get to bask in the Mineral Springs and Crystal Water of the Mayfield Falls.

Negril and Montego Bay booming as Honeymoon Destinations

It seems that Negril and Montego Bay are now popular honeymoon destinations to visitors from the United States. This came to my attention while I was on a flight from Fort Lauderdale to Montego Bay on Monday June 21, 2010. The Stewardess announced and congratulated a total of 15 newly wedded couples which boarded the flight as a connection from Chicago.

After a few minutes of talking and raving by the newly weds, it was revealed that more than half of the 15 couples were headed to Negril and it was also their first time visiting Jamaica. I was sitting to the right of a couple and I entered the conversation and asked a few questions, my first question was “Why didn’t you get married in Jamaica?”, the couple replied saying that they didn’t really think of Jamaica until they were online searching for beautiful honeymoon destination.

There and then, I became a temporary Ambassador to Jamaica and congratulated them, Welcome them to Jamaica and hope they will return on their anniversaries.
